Perth, Australia – 10 February, 2021 – HealthEngine today announces the introduction of its new pharmacy Patient Appointment Management System (PAMS), which will integrate with MedAdvisor’s pharmacy platform, PlusOne. The new solution is designed to provide an end-to-end pharmacy booking and appointment management platform and is positioned to support community pharmacies in time for the 2021 flu season and the roll-out of COVID-19 vaccines in pharmacy as part of Phase 2A of the national vaccine program.
Last year, there was a 330% year-on-year spike in flu shots, according to MedAdvisor flu data, as Australians rushed to get immunised earlier than usual. This year, the flu shot season will align with the roll-out of COVID-19 vaccines in pharmacies – which means having a system in place to streamline the patient and pharmacy experience is more important than ever.
The new Patient Appointment Management System (PAMS) builds on HealthEngine’s role as Australia’s largest consumer healthcare network and most established online healthcare appointment booking provider, supporting more than 7000 healthcare customers across GP, Dental, Pharmacy, Allied Health and Specialists. The system offers a comprehensive booking solution with capabilities such as online customers bookings and management of walk-ins, support for corporate vaccination programs through an integrated voucher management system, electronic pre-screening forms and more.
The new HealthEngine offering is strengthened with MedAdvisor’s involvement as a leader in pharmacy software solutions. The seamless integration will allow significant workflow improvements for pharmacies by pre-filling the information already shared by the patient from the HealthEngine PAMS into MedAdvisor’s PlusOne, where the vaccination encounter will be recorded and submitted automatically to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).
First to roll out the platform is TerryWhite Chemmart who will be using it across its network of 450+ pharmacies in Australia.
